Tailored Tai Chi for Beginners

While not a master in Tai Chi, Dr. Gabriel is an expert in teaching adults and children and she is passionate about sharing the many benefits of a simplified form of Tai Chi with people of all ages and ability levels.

Tailored Tai Chi is taught by Linda Gabriel, PhD, OTR/L, an occupational therapist with 25 years experience teaching occupational therapy to graduate students and 15 years working with children with special needs.  As an occupational therapist she is familiar with human body and function, motor learning, development, and how to break complex movements into achievable parts.

 

Dr. Gabriel's Tai Chi training includes

  • Certified in the Eight Active Ingredients of Tai Chi, a 2 year program of study that includes classroom learning, video critique of teaching a class, comprehensive examination, demonstration of the Beijing Form (24), and demonstrated ability to make a professional presentation.  Program of study developed and taught by Peter Wayne, PhD, author of the book The Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi: 12 Weeks to a Healthy Body, Strong Heart & Sharp Mind (2013).  Completed in 2018, see http://www.treeoflifetaichi.com/teachertraining.php

  • Tai Chi for Rehabilitation Instructor Certificate from Tai Chi for Health (Dr. Paul Lam) in 2017.
